Responsibilities

·        Manage and oversee all import and export activities to ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.

·        Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation for shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.

·        Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping companies to arrange transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery.

·        Monitor and track shipments throughout the logistics process, addressing any delays or issues that may arise.

·        Conduct thorough research on HS codes and tariffs to ensure proper classification and valuation of goods.

·        Liaise with customs authorities to resolve any clearance or inspection issues that may occur during the import/export process.

·        Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions and ensure documentation is readily available for audits.

·        Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics, supply chain, and finance, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

·        Stay updated on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and international trade agreements that may impact operations.

·        Provide training and guidance to staff on customs compliance and import/export procedures.

 

Requirements

·        Solid knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance practices.

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience in import/export operations or a similar role within a logistics environment.

·        Proficiency in handling customs documentation and coordinating with freight forwarders effectively.

·        Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve clearance or inspection issues promptly.

·        Familiarity with HS codes, tariffs, and various shipment tracking systems used in logistics operations.

·        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration across teams.

·        Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

·        Strong analytical skills with the capability to assess complex situations and provide solutions.

·        Proficient in using software applications related to logistics and customs management.
